Lowther Gardens

Kate had a fall yesterday and bruised her left hand. This morning it was very swollen so she couldn't drive so I went over to hers. As soon as I saw her hand I thought she needed to go to the hospital, I think she was relieved to go. I drove to Blackpool Vic. A place we know very well, full of memories. Our dad was chief bacteriologist for years, I worked there one summer whilst doing my degree and Kate worked in the coronary care unit, all nearly over 40 years ago. It has really changed, it is so much bigger and unrecognisable.
When we walked in all humanity was sitting in the waiting room, with hardly an empty seat. We were sent to the urgent care dept where there was no queue. Straight in then to x ray, no queue again then back to urgent care. The nurse saw her within 5 mins, no bones broken thankfully. They did give her a  sling to help. All in all it took about an hour a fantastic service, the NHS at its best.
I drove us to Fairhaven for a lovely lunch in the cafe then we walked to Lytham. Back through Lowther gardens and a drink in the cafe after admiring this statue of Bobby Ball which is a good likeness.
