Inside Pickering Castle

Beautiful start to the day. Too good to miss getting out for a short bike ride. Wonderful clear skies and views made it a joy to be out.

This afternoon we decided to pop into Pickering Castle. I’ve posted many photos of the exterior but not so many of the inside. This is the view of the motte with inner Bailey and moat. There were some good views over the Vale of Pickering and the town .

We bumped into some more Pickering residents that we know through orienteering. The wife had never visited the castle despite living in the town for many years. Sometimes we do not appreciate what is on our doorstep.
