Ermitage St Maurice

or rather the path leading to it which was full of pebbles/stones placed into the rock along the side.  I've not seen this here before and wondered what it was about. There were literally hundreds of them, mainly individual, lining the route. We were on a walk above a local village , Corbiere, where there is an old Chateau (now privately owned) , a number of crumbling old outbuildings (see extra) and some chapels in the hills. This one is said to have a 'modern day hermit' living at it. Sadly it was closed when we arrived but we think we saw the 'hermit' driving back up the track in her car as we were going down. Will have to return another day to look inside.
