Birthday Preparations

It’s my mother’s 85th birthday. We went to see her this afternoon, for traditional birthday coffee & cakes. An old friend and colleague of my mother’s and her husband joined us as well. My mother obviously enjoyed all the attention and the company, even though it all tired her more than usual.

I gave her some woolen slippers and warm clothes (including newly knitted socks) as presents. She’s got a wardrobe full of stuff, but sadly a lot of it doesn’t fit her anymore. Just as I had found a box to put the presents in, Rani beat me to filling it. So we had to use bags instead…
