AGM

We held the first AGM of the 'Portobello Central SCIO' (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) this evening. This is the group looking to bring the Town Hall into community management. With the Town Hall still cloaked in scaffolding as the builders working on the roof and walls we held the AGM round the corner in the Wash House. The Wash House, the Town Hall and Bellfield provide Portobello with a trio of public buildings which hopefully will complement each other in the years to come. Each building has different strengths and suitability for different sorts of events. At the AGM we elected the trustees - eight new ones joined the seven of us who re-stood for election. We also publicly thanked U who has been our development manager for the past few months - paid for with a grant, helping us to clarify our ideas and our strategy for the coming months as we bring the building back into use.
