Cosmos
I managed to forget to take my phone/camera with me today so took this of the cosmos by the door when I got home. On my way back there was a splendid hare in the middle of the field as I was heading into the village.
Spent the morning sorting car stuff and doing some jobs in the garden before the rain. I watched the Queen being carried from Holyrood to St.Giles. I’m still finding it particularly affecting. When it brightened I went to see the chaps ... my own little proclamation ... and found a few ceps which are drying as I write. It was empty and very beautiful up there. The late sunshine was catching the gossamer threads of webs that had drifted free and were floating across the tarn where fish were rising. As I turned to head back down I glanced back for a last look at the shimmer and a fish jumped sending ripples out across the water.
The lads from Steel End farm were bringing the sheep down from the Fell and along the road to Stenkin.
