unmuffled

This needs an explanation. When I got into my car at 7:15 this morning to drive to a dentist appointment I discovered that in the night a thief had cut out the catalytic converters on both of our cars as they sat in the driveway! I drove mine noisily down to the repair shop but we decided to have the other one towed. It appears they cut off the tail pipe and muffler and left that particular appendage for us. Insurance will cover most of the cost and the community came to the rescue. While I was at the garage, Tom stopped by to pay a bill and offered to let us use his van for as long as we needed it. I just had to help him unload a pile of wood first. It was a small payment:)
