Great North Run

The Great North Run is the largest half marathon in the world with 60000 participants. My partner Andy was running his first half marathon, an amazing achievement.
I left him to walk to the start line in Newcastle while I took the Metro to South Shields , where the race was finishing.
It was a warm sunny day , so quite challenging for a long run. Andy very sensibly slowed his pace and took every opportunity to take on fluids and cool down in the ‘shower ‘ areas. He completed the race in 2 hours 45 mins ! he’s raised around £800 for the mental health charity MIND. What a star ⭐️
