A Ghost Of A Chance

Today's shot was actually taken at the edge of a pub car park. I'd had a bit of a poor day blipwise but I noticed these plants appearing to be almost backlit against the dark background, which I think gives them a rather ghostly appearance. O.K that me be stretching it a bit but you have to take your chances for a blip where you can find them!

So Bojo has finally left office - and his leaving speech was just as dishonourable and dishonest as his mercifully brief - although nowhere near brief enough - period in office.
It was kicked off with a note of bitterness with a jibe about rules being changed "halfway through" to get him out office (seemingly having conveniently - or more likely deliberately - forgotten that he tried to unlawfully shut down parliament for 5 weeks at the height of Brexit to get his own way) with absolutely no recognition of the fact that his downfall  was brought about by his own misdeeds and misconduct.
He then went on to paint a bright picture of the country he is leaving behind when many commentators have denounced this appraisal as deluded, with most of his government's so called achievements having been shown to be untrue - getting Brexit done,  being on course to deliver 40 new hospitals and the recruitment of 50,000 nurses being just a few examples that do not stand up to any kind of real scrutiny or fact checking.
It was a show of misleading swagger that fully reflects his reputation as a liar and consistent rejector of any wrongdoing - particularly during the partygate scandal. He even had the brazen brass neck to  suggest the possibility of a political comeback. Utterly stupefying!!
...And now we have Liz Truss as Prime Minister. Gold help us all!
