It’s been a day of connecting with folk associated in some way with the Kaikoura boat tragedy and the Nature Photographic Society people involved. The police still haven’t released the names of the deceased, so releasing details here still isn’t appropriate.

Everyone I’ve had contact with is gutted by this terrible tragedy. Five people dead and six survivors, including the skipper, no doubt all traumatised. It’s a strong group of folk and they’ll all pull together, but at what cost?
I’ve hardly thought about anything else all day.
