Proclamation

This afternoon the High Sheriff of Bedfordshire addressed the good citizens of Luton from the Town Hall steps, bringing the proclamation of King Charles III. An ancient memory from the days when news was sent by a rider on horseback, rather than newspapers, radio, television or internet. I'm pretty sure that most people there already knew, and that they found out about this ceremony through the internet or local radio.
