Flying high...
Yesterday morning, the day of the proclamation of the King, like all Union Flags around the country, the flag in the park was raised from half mast to full mast and remained so until 1pm this afternoon when it was returned to half-mast, and will stay so until the day following the Queen’s funeral.
An unsuccessful whizz trip to the high street this morning, then, on and off, followed the contrasting events in Scotland today, with the Queen’s coffin processing from Balmoral Castle to Hollyroodhouse Palace in Edinburgh, where earlier, at midday, King Charles III was once again proclaimed King, as he was at many other locations today. (See extra for collage of today’s events.)
