The House

The great Elizabethan mansion house was started in 1560 within the 15th century ruined defences of Berry Pomeroy Castle. It would have been the most spectacular house in Devon if the Seymours had ever found the money to finish it. 

I've usually photographed it from the front but today I walked through the woods and down to the road below to get this viewpoint from the back.
