Wealden Pullman at Rolvenden

A different view from the railway today. As part of learning Rolvenden signalbox signalmen have to pass out at Rolvenden crossing gates which are under the signalman’s control.

So I was doing a learning turn at the gates under the direction of an experienced crossing keeper. All went well despite the traffic on this A class road. I’ll have a passing out turn later in the year, all being well.

The Sunday Lunch Pullman was out today, looking resplendent in the afternoon sunshine. We were the fortunate to be recipients of soup from the kitchen and later some roast potatoes their way back.
