Eye of the Tiger

Arrived safe and sound in Aviemore yesterday, and, after a quick shower and change of clothes, we were straight out for dinner and a few drinks. Ended up in Anderson's Restaurant in Boat of Garten, and had an amazing steak. Although the wine and whisky (never a good combination) was flowing freely, it was a tad more sedate than our usual first-night escapades in Aviemore, which is more than likely due to the missus being pregnant. Not that we didn't enjoy ourselves mind you (in fact, I rather enjoyed not being sick and hungover for a change) - we simply skipped heading off to the Cairn for whisky and shooters and headed back home to play some Guitar Hero on the Wii :)

Today, we headed up to the Highland Wildlife Park for a wee nosy around and to see the tigers, which they didn't have last time we were here. They were doing some maintenance in the drive-around part, so they didn't have a lot of the animals wandering about, and the wolf-enclosure was closed, which were a bit disappointing, however it's always pretty cool to get up close & personal with a tiger - even if it is behind a thick bit of safety glass :)

We had planned on having a BBQ for tea, however the weather had threatened rain all day, and, despite not actually coming to anything, we decided it was safer to opt for a pizza, wine and a DVD instead.
