Pleasure and Pain.
The Garvald Puppeteers Perform at the Storytelling Centre on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh.
And my, did they perform. Loud and clear. Nuanced and sensitive.
I was ever so proud to see the old team working together so well.
And to see them up on stage, each individual confident and controlled. Being an old hand, I know the huge amount of work behind the scenes, sometimes over years, which has gone into enabling the puppeteers to stand up there today on such a fine stage and perform with such gathered confidence. I'm honoured to have experienced it today. Well done. A testament to the individual resilience, care and strength of character of each and every person involved.
Particularly apt on Workers Day today. Happy May Day.
A few tears brimmed my eyelids. As always.
Well done!
In other news tears almost brimmed my eyes in pain at the Wednesday night torture, sorry, spinning session.
Overheard two ladies pre-class: oh I really enjoy it, yeah its not like work, its more fun really, yeah its really fun.
Have I got a really warped sense of fun? Now I thought I'd got myself to a rather decent level of general fitness but this is painful, and it is hard work.
Fun is something else for me entirely.
