Monarchy

Well, here I am on my fifth monarch  -  who'd a thunk it!  Geore V died 1936, Edward VIII abdicated 1937, George VI died 1952, ElizabethII died 2022, and now we have Charles III starting his new job.  -  hope he does it well.  My blip today is the card we all got at school from the King to celebrate the end of the War and to encourage us kids to grow up with the qualities of courage, endurance and enterprise like our War heroes.  How different things were then, we had to grow up with Pathe News  to keep us up-to-date with events  -  no television, Internet and air travel like today where we could watch every movement of Charles being proclaimed King  -  even where he told off one of his aides for leaving the penholder to close on his desk!!
