Had been intrigued as to the difference between the two lamps when I added them to a recent order for electronics repair parts. Upon receipt, there doesn't seem to be any, other than the packaging. Noticing that F-rating surprised me, "Surely not. Did I make a mistake? Or have they sent the wrong lamp?"

Mistakes made by Philips. Two LED based light bulbs of the same specification from the same manufacturer, that look near identical. Suspect the one on the right is older, and perhaps the marketing department wanted to highlight that it was equivalent to an old 60W filament lamp more than the 8W power rating that it was. Bigger numbers are better. Whoever did the energy rating sees the 60W and rates the lamp in the poor "F" category. That'll help sales. Nobody notices the mistake, and thousands of little boxes are printed up. And still nobody notices the mistake when those thousands of boxes are filled sealed, and sent out to retailers.

There are foreseeable issues with having so much work done for you in a different country/culture/language that uses a different alphabet, with too little oversight or input from where you want to sell the goods.

The lamps are now deployed where I'd taken out the old and rarely used filament ones in April, but didn't have enough replacements, and then forgot over the lighter months of the year. Only three old fluorescent tube type lamps to change, when their tubes eventually fail.
