Intense

The colors of this hibiscus are intense. It is standing out on this hazy day.

The power company is turning off the electricity in some regions of Oregon to avoid fires being intensified by the high winds. Our son Ron's house has already lost power, and PGE workers in his area told him it will probably be off until Sunday night. We went over this afternoon, so my husband could help him set up a new generator so that the freezer and refrigerator would have power. They got it going on propane rather than using gasoline. I hope the tank last as long as advertised so he doesn't have to change it for about 24 hours. The wind isn't bad yet, so it seems a little early to turn it off, but I understand they want to avoid sparks from the power lines starting fires. It is a big hardship for those with no generator!!
