Tiny fly in a hawthorn hedge
When I got home tonight the sun was slanting low and striking the hawthorn hedge at the bottom of the garden. Time for a macro, I thought, but I didn't envisage going this small. A honey bee whizzed past and a hoverfly gawped at me for a second, but basically there was no big stuff, so I wondered what would happen if I went as low as I could go. So here is a 2 mm long fly with lovely opalescent wings. Absolutely no idea what it is but it looks a bit like a lacewing, only MUCH smaller.
