Sunshine Over King's Castle

A beautiful sunny day, all day, and a lovely sunset.  Mostly warm, but a chill in the breeze.

I popped along Laura again, on my way to work.  Last late shift in the airport, and mostly on the check-in desk.  There was some rush bags to sort through, and a busy evening helping with boarding.  We also had the police and dogs in tonight.  Walkies with Sammy, then a quiet night on the sofa.

A lovely sunny day in Shetland for the first day under the reign of our new King, King Charles III.  Most people today have shown sadness and empathy for Queen Elizabeth II and family.  I did manage to see most of his majesty's speech this evening, until I was interrupted by passengers.  King Charles has visited Shetland many times now, first visit in the 1960s.  I met him in 2007, when he came to Shetland with Camilla, also Queen Sonja of Norway, to open the Shetland Museum and Archives.  Now for his next visit, he must come to Cunningsburgh, which means King's Castle.  It once was spelt Coningsburg, also Old Norse Konungsborgr.  Was there a royal castle here in the past? It would be great to have a new one now.  Looking over the Villans, Cunningsburgh.
