Coming to terms

(Another TV blip)

Normal service has been suspended today. Sometimes, you need to stop and take stock. G didn't go to school, and I switched on my work laptop only to find there wasn't much to do. I guess everyone has stopped. There was an email from our CEO Lord Carter talking about time off for staff to pay their respects during planned events in the days and weeks ahead. Even the UAE has announced three days of official mourning for the Queen!

Much of the day has been spent watching tributes and the service at St. Paul's. The sight of the MPs in the House of Commons, all in attendance, dressed smartly in black and white was incredible, especially for someone from a part of the world where it's hard to get people on the same page.
