RIP

Thank you ma’am.

I’ve never been or monarchist or Republican. I’m unmoved either way.

But today’s news has been unexpectedly upsetting and I’ve been tearful. I’m quite bewildered why.

I’m feeling a deep sense of loss.

United’s game went ahead. Very strange atmosphere. They lost to a non-penalty. It didn’t matter.

I keep returning to the image of the Queen greeting Liz Truss on Tuesday. So frail, still smiling, still working. Incredible. May she RIP.
