Normal Service Postponed

It was early afternoon when I first became aware of the story that Her Maj wasn’t at all well, but I didn’t take that much notice of it as she’d been poorly before. However some time after 3pm there was an announcement that BBC One had suspended regular programming. Blimey. Something not done lightly.
But there was no further news and the Hearts v Istanbul Basaksehir game kicked off at 5:45pm. At half time word went round. Was it just a rumour - nope, it was true. An announcement was made and before the second half kicked off the teams lined up for a minute’s silence. And briefly we got that, till someone yelled something offensive. And was shouted down. Then another loudmouth. More shouting down. Then section N struck up with GSTQ. Immediately section G drowned that in a chorus of boos and so it continued until the ref had heard enough and blew his whistle. What an effing disgrace. Is shutting your mouth for one minute too big an effort? It’s your club that’s asking you, you bloody clots.
Anyway, predictably enough, we had our asses well kicked by the Turks. Our preparation of five defeats in our previous six matches wasn’t the best.
Basaksehir, by contrast, are unbeaten in all competitions since March.

Enough football. The demise of the Queen is a big one, no matter how you look at it. A real link gone - someone who stood with Churchill on the balcony on VE Day. I guess this weekend’s football will all be cancelled. No bad thing.
