Borgerswold near Veendam N E NL

An overnight stop on a nature reserve of some size with an area for camping near the lake where we can watch water skiing - using an overhead wire. The site can take 60 vans although only 10 last night, some look as though they are here for some time. A quiet area where we spotted Grebe on the lake, John looked it up, possibly a red necked variety. He also looked up wild life in the NL and found it is similar to the UK with an occasional wolf coming over from Germany or France.

There are several bars dotted over the area, an indication this is a very busy place during the summer season.

A wet start to the day, we popped over to the library near the aire for a hot chocolate and wifi, it was very slow. The library and cafe area looked comfortable and we sat near a couple of women who were learning Dutch on a one to on basis, the four of them made it all sound like great fun.

The wifi tonight is much better.

Thank you blippers for trawling back this last week, wifi, as in many countries, is variable as we move around.
