Abstract : : Changes

A lot of changes have been applied to this photo of a grevillea flower taken through the kitchen window. I don't know if they were really necessary as I think these flowers are wonderfully abstract on their own, but I have photographed them so many times, I thought a few changes were called for. This is a high contrast triple exposure of the same flower.

I went outside once to see if the chain saw I heard was PG&E cutting down the dead tree. They weren't, but there is yellow caution tape around it so that might mean something....too hot to investigate further but it is supposed to cool down tomorrow....

Certainly the death of Queen Elizabeth will bring about big changes. Her long reign and her dedication to the Crown was a constant in such a rapidly changing world. I think she recognized this, but was also not unaware of the fact that times change and the younger generation must change with them. I remember going to friends' to watch her coronation on television because we didn't have one. I was ten years old and suitably impressed.

I am personally saddened by the news of her death today. She did her job with great sacrifice and dignity during some very difficult times. I  admired her enormously. I can't help thinking how lonely she must have been during her final years, and it makes me so sad. I hope her family made it it time to be with her at the end....

Apologies for my lack of comments. I think my brain cells will begin to recover as it cools off and I can resume normal service....
