What a day of very different events.

The rain, biblical throughout the day. The perfect day for turf laying it seems. The gardeners were drenched and despite my protests kept going until the lawn was laid. Unfortunately the garden is not finished and we don't yet have a date for the plasterer.

The first of the bulb orders arrived, but several streets away. I had to go ringing door bells in a tenement stair to get it.

Then the news, the news from Liam and Emily, joyous, exciting and uplifting. Followed quickly by the news of Queenie. Whatever you think of Royalty, the passing of a mother and grandmother is sad.

So many things thrown into one day, much like our trip to the shop, the shop packed full of so many different things.
