A sad, sad day

What a sad day. Queen Elizabeth reigned for over 70 years and died aged 96 this afternoon. What an incredible woman she was, on duty from the moment her father died until today. Not many 96 year olds are expected to still be working. Only yesterday she met with the new Tory leader, Liz Truss and she looked so fragile then.

We always ask ‘where were you when….’ JFK was shot or Elvis died or the twin towers were bombed…so I took this photo a few minutes after the sad news was announced to remember that I was working at Sale Rugby Club.
