Sea daffodils
Apparently there was an earthquake this morning, not unusual for the Ionian islands but more noticeable than is usually the case at 5.7 on the Richter scale. I think I was sea swimming at the time and was oblivious.
A short coastal walk past Lepada beach to the abandoned resort perched on the clifftop. It was Cephalonia’s first foray into inclusive tourist resorts a few years ago, and spectacularly unsuccessful. Local story is that it was built with Russian laundry money and the builders failed to make it earthquake proof so it partly collapsed and is now too expensive to demolish.
Perfect Greek lunch of fried courgettes and Mythos, obviously.
All this now sounds very frivolous given the portentous news this evening.
