Fuji TV

Today we met Andrew at Funabori for lunch at the bakery then travelled to Odaiba, the area of Tokyo's redeveloped dock area on Tokyo Bay.

This is a vast area full of very modern buildings, open green areas and walkways, and, of course, shopping malls. We went to Palette Town to visit the Toyota Mega Web, a centre including an excellent car museum (not just Toyota, there was an E Type Jag, a DeLorean and other classic European and US cars).

Palette Town also includes a giant Ferris wheel, an entertainment complex and a shopping mall straight out of Los Vegas dressed up as 17th century Venice complete with an artificial sky which is eerily real looking.

Later we walked over to another centre, boasting a giant robot outside, via an Oktoberfest Beer (and Sake) festival which was in full swing. There we had something to eat before returning to the city via the Rapid Transit Line, similar to London's Dockland Light Railway.

The picture is of the futuristic (hence the heavy post processing) Fuji TV Headquarters Building. Complete with 32 meter diameter dome, 123 meters off the ground, and used as an observation deck with views across Tokyo Bay and the surrounding district.
