Have Chimney, Want Swifts

We walked to Slim's for dinner after a really good Pilates class (on Zoom). Sometimes I drag through the class, and sometimes it's nicely challenging and feels so good.
Slim's is a crusty old bar in St. Johns; they call it dark, divey, and unpretentious, and that it is. A new chef has upgraded the menu that is still covered in plastic with black tape binding. A real mix of St. Johns folk: burly dudes at the bar drinking whiskey with their pasta bowls, booths and tables filled with the folk you see at food carts and the farmers market.
We looked for swifts going into the chimney behind the cinema, but saw none. It's been a few years since we've seen them, so maybe they've found new quarters. Then we walked home pleased with the temperature and general look of things. I think I'm in better spirits just because we are about done with the heat and we may even get a bit of rain next week.
