In the pink
Autumn colours starting to show on the bonsai bird cherry in the garden. Nice bit of slug-nibbling there too!
We have a few trees (bird cherry, sycamore) that have arrived via bird deliveries, germinated in the paving cracks, and then been transplanted into small pots. Other than refreshing the soil every few years, they are not trained or pruned. One has been with me now for about 20 years, and the others are newer arrivals since we moved to Haddington in 2007.
Blackbirds like to investigate the pots and wrens like to perch on the top branches of these perfectly wren-sized trees.
