Cat stories

Where to begin? Well, I was up uncharacteristically early at 7.30 for a whole day devoted to cats. What I haven't mentioned before is that a few days ago Jessica, garden cat (and oft blipped before), brought her latest litter of four kittens to my front balcony.  She did this because the Turkish couple who have been feeding her all summer long have gone back to Istanbul, so she brought them to the local cat cafe me! Clever girl. Born just 24 hours before Lillyanna's kittens 9th July I now have eight kittens on my balcony (extra) -_-

This is Jessica's third litter in 18 months, and now that the kittens are more or less weaned, today was the day to say no more, and with the help of Janice and John first thing this morning I took Jessica to the council animal shelter to be spayed. She was ready to go home just three hours later and the rest of my day was spent keeping an eye on her till she was ready to go in the garden late afternoon.  She didn't go far, and was happy to be back on my balcony with her brood.

Tomorrow it will be Lillyanna's turn for the operation at the shelter. Her four babies (inc the two sweeties in today's main pic) will be 9 weeks old on Friday and will be, hopefully, the last litter born in our gardens.

The day closed with a little pool time with neighbours before Graham, Kat and I went in to Didim for dinner, which ended up being super yummy fish and chips again at Ali's cafe.
