Gorbals Boys

I'm a big fan of the late Oscar Marzaroli the Italian born Scottish photographer, 1933 - 1988, particularly his monochrome images of the Gorbals from the 1960s.

Deacon Blue wrote the song Take Me to the Place as a tribute to Marzeroli.

My favourite images are 'Golden Haired Lass', and the 3 boys playing in a Gorbals street in their mother?s high heeled shoes. The latter image has been translated into a sculpture by artist Liz Peden and stands in a New Gorbals street.

I photographed the 3 sculptures and merged them into one picture. I would like to use an old Glasgow tenement as a backdrop but that's for another day.
