OVER THE RIVER

After a few days of having to go to appointments or catch a certain bus it was nice to have no schedule today and be able to please myself.  So I had a nice lie in and liesurely breakfast.  After doing a few chores I had a wander down to the village.

The Wide Wednesday theme today is - The Built Environment (Human Made). I decided on this view from the path behind the village shops across to the Newcastle side of the River Tyne.  Its quite a long way off so I had to zoom in a lot.   You can see a football stadium - its St James Park - home of Newcastle United football club. The three tower blocks are ( I think ) Todds Nook Flats in Newcastle's West End. They were built in the early 1960s.  They appeared in the opening sequence of the local TV series The Likely Lads. Thanks to Steveng for hosting

I did some shopping in Herons and Tesco before I headed home.  On the way I met Jo who used to go to my slimming group.  She attends a different group these days but I sometimes see her walking her gorgeous long haired German Shepherd dog Max.  Poor Max has gone deaf since I last saw him.  He's 11 years old.  HERE he is in 2020 when he was my blip shot.
