Just look at those big eyes. Poor old Toff hates wearing the collar and has been in hiding all day again, feeling very sorry for herself.

When our lovely regular vet took a look at Toffee’s wound this morning, in preparation for admitting her for surgery, we were both very pleased to see that the wound had actually closed over since yesterday, avoiding the need for risky sedation and op. However, when the vet shaved away even more fluff, we discovered that the wound was even bigger than previously thought, 10cm long! So, after an antibiotic jab for Toff and instructions for me on how to care for the wound, Toff came home to rest and recuperate, wearing her new collar, which she has to keep on for a week, and which she hates. She’s also not allowed out for a week, which shouldn’t prove a problem as ever since we got home, she’s been in hiding at the bottom of my bed and hasn’t appeared once. I can see I’m in for a second sleepless night...
