Hoverfly

I spent a large part of the day in the garden, deadheading, cutting back and sowing some seeds. I had a nice catch up with my neighbour who has very kindly been watering my garden whilst we have been away. We will be returning the favour when they go away next month. 

I very nearly posted a red admiral which landed on the last of the buddleia, but wasn't quite quick enough, so instead you have this hoverfly. I'm not sure I have posted this one before. According to the Seek app, it is Volucella Inanis. 

I think we might be back to tropical butterfly blipping tomorrow as it's my turn to let them out of the cage in the morning. Apparently we have some home bred swallowtails as well. I'm quite excited :)
