First day back at school!

Fortunately all the children had mostly gone home an hour earlier than this absolute deluging of a storm which started about 4.45pm. I’m sure there will be some flooding around somewhere nearby.
Thunder and lightning, torrential rain, made our road like a river. The gutters on the houses were overflowing with the sheer force of the water cascading down from the sky.
I had been to my Pilates class earlier.
I may need to go and pick Stephen up from the station if this continues. He’d had an appointment at in Sutton at 4.30pm.
There is now another storm passing over, but the skies are looking brighter in the west.
It’s a good job I cut some of the flowering roses to bring indoors before this all began.
Now we have a rainbow accompaniment to all the drama!
We should have had another waterbutt outside as I’m pretty certain it would be filled by now.
Funny how soon you can forget a heatwave when we once again have some rain.
I took the photo out of the small bedroom window, as the rain was flowing down the road.
