Das Alte Rathaus/The Old Town Hall - Bamberg
Bamburg is really very, very pretty. It's also full of tourists - mainly American from what I heard. It was also swelteringly hot - I mean like dripping sweat hot.
The heat curtailed my usual habit of schnuppering around and discovering things for myself. The heat just floored me.
And as is the norm here, the conference (40 people) took place in a room with lots of laptops running, a beamer for showing presentations and no air conditioning. You could open a window but it was just as warm outside as inside and there was no breeze.
Most of the group went off for dinner at a very popular restaurant - given the weather I was in no mood for sitting in a packed and really noisy dining room waiting for enormous portions of Bavarian food. I walked past the restaurant and it was pickpackevoll with about 200 people standing on the street in front of it drinking - not my thing at all.
