Another first
Today our travels took us to the lovely town of Bridgnorth, two towns really - High town and Low town.
The main purpose of our visit was to see the Severn Valley Railway and maybe catch a steam train or two, seems we were a day late as they had a visit from 34027 Taw Valley supporting shiny new purple livery, I did manage to see a small part of it.
We leave the station behind and with much coaxing and treats we manage to get the boys over the footbridge to High Town. On our way we come across these colourful miniature statues, a tribute to Bridgnorth’s historic train Catch Me Who Can.
A walk along the banks of the river Severn then a spot of lunch before we wander through the town where we catch the funicular railway back to the car.
A day is not enough in this wonderful place steeped in history.
Thunder, lightning and rain overhead as I’m writing this.
