Shortest
The shortest scheduled flight in the world is the 90 second hop from Westray to Papay. I think it often takes more like 60 seconds though today it would have been contending with a strong headwind. A couple of my blip friends have done this flight but I never have. This morning we watched the plane come in from Kirkwall, land in Westray, take off for Papay, land and then take off again. It must have been a bumpy flight.
It was terribly wet yesterday evening. Definitely not weather for walking. This morning, though, has been reasonable so we went out for a brisk two hour walk about about 08:00. Walked north towards the airport and did a few farm tracks to extend things. The extra shows sunlight on the still unharvested barley and over to the lighthouse on Noup Head.
Back to the cottage for coffee and we will go for a late lunch at the local bistro. Looking forward to that and not much will need to be done thereafter. If it stays dry I'll try a bit more beachcombing. The lively tides will be bringing all sorts onto the sand.
