I need a home
Today I went on the monthly Greyhound Walk at Puckpool. 'Wight Track Home Retired Greyhounds' based in Kent, bring over two or three retired racing greyhounds to Puckpool, Yaverland and sometimes other locations, to try and rehome them on the Island. They have a lot of success and my friends A & L took on Jenny six weeks ago. She's settling in very well. Many of the Islanders who have rehomed a dog meet and walk their dogs, share stories and ask each other questions. Today there were about 25 dogs. The two or three seeking a new home wear an orange tabard with words 'I need a home' and are walked along with all the others. Passers-by stop and ask questions and after a checking process many dogs are subsequently rehomed to the Island.
