Smoked (and not homegrown)

I'm just back from a couple of days in Wissant, a beautiful seaside place on the Côte d'Opale.

I couldn't resist this 15-bulb plait of smoked garlic, which I bought at a market (with a few free onions and shallots thrown in!).

I've actually already got my garlic for autumn planting but I have no idea when the soil will be OK enough for planting...
