Sally Mair - Loving life

St Paul's Cathedral

We had a wonderful day which started at 9am St Paul's and walked across the Millennium Bridge to Southwark Cathedral. After a meeting, lunch in Borough Market and then a wonderful Eucharist to finish off the afternoon we killed time for a couple of hours before going on an evening cruise on the Thames. The boat wasn't busy, we had a glass of fizz and canapés served throughout the evening and a guitarist playing music from the 60s and 70's he fitted in a couple of songs from this century too!
Lots to see from the boat and Tower Bridge even opened up to let a tall ship through while we were watching. There was a surprise for one of the other passengers when his girlfriend proposed with the assistance of the guitarist who called them out for a special song! . Fortunately the young man said yes, otherwise it might have had a dampener on the evening! I even spotted an Anthony Gormley on the way down the river.
