Pops

Pops was 80 yesterday, a fact you'd never really know if you met him. He's definitely aged over the past few years but when you take into account he's 15 years into a kidney transplant, survived a heart attack and bladder cancer and had a major accident on his boat a couple of years ago when he broke three ribs, he's doing ok.

I was only allowed to visit if i played nicely with my mother, who I had a catastrophic falling out with a couple of years ago. I can do 'professionally polite' quite well so hopefully it counted.

I'm at home with a large gin now. It wasn't the easiest of days (my brother and his tribe were there, thankfully) but I'm glad I saw him.
