The Festival is Over

An early start with a meeting at 9.30 and finally reading the papers at 9.10.  The meeting was ok and despite my worries we only finished 5 minutes over.  Then I had to rush to get into town for 12.30.  

I'm always amazed how quickly the Festivals are dismantled.  It finished Monday night and two days later the busiest sites are unrecognisable, deconstruction.

Two networking events today.  The first in the RBS building in St Andrew Square, the ACOSVO Women's network, in person for the first time since 2019.  Interesting talk about women and influence and a free book.

Had a quick wheek round JL looking at rugs then up to Newington to pick up the Choir posters.  I managed to get some stuck up too which was a bonus.  It was a nice afternoon, sunny and warm and as I had time to kill I sat in the Pear Tree garden with a rose wine.  It wasn't busy and there was no football on.

That was followed by a gentle stroll through the Quartermile to the Morton Fraser offices for the Changing the Chemistry event.  There was a gin tasting form a distillery near West Calder that offers a bottle refill service.  Interesting.  It was an interesting evening too.  Met some new people and there were was more snacky food and wine.

It was nearly 9 by the time I left and it was still warm, a contrast to earlier in the week, and despite the fact that meteorological autumn started today. 

Got home and slumped.  I was tired and probably overloaded with 'junk' food. Despite Wednesday's tweet the Council do not appear to have emptied the recycling bin. Maybe tomorrow.
