Driftwood

Contrasting the naturalness of driftwood in the foreground with the high-rise blocks of Porto city in the background. I took this picture on Praia Cabedelo do Douro, reached by crossing the river southwards and driving through a grid of roads to a coastal housing development.

Some sunshine peeped through the cloud cover today. These days were a welcome break from the increasingly frequent heatwaves in the south and east of the Iberian peninsula.
