Costa del Whitehaven

Popped over to Whitehaven today to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition - which is only on until Sunday. It was, as always inspiring and fabulous to see. 

The exhibition was being shown at the Beacon - a 4 storey building at the side of the harbour - the view from the top floor of Whitehaven harbour could have been in the South of France, or anywhere on the Med. It was a glorious day. (extra)

Whitehaven also marks the start of the C2C (coast 2 coast) cycleway, and the start is marked by a stainless steel sign / obelisk / marker on the harbour edge. (main pic) the centre section shows the logo C2C, the left side shows the start point at Whitehaven on the Cumbrian coast, the right side shows the finish at Sunderland on the Tyneside coast.
