Piping in the first oysters of the season
This evening was the beginning of the Stranraer Oyster Festival. There was the parade lead by the piper and prominent citizen carrying the first catch of oysters straight off the boat.
The 'prominent citizen' is John, the husband of my warden and who was the previous Lord-Lieutenant of Wigtownshire. They are both fabulous people!
As an aside, the current LL recognised me and came across to say hi, even though we were both off duty. She is an impressive lady.
Further aside, the oysters were delicious!!
