1810-2022 .....

This is the oldest cast iron road bridge in the world.  By that I mean the oldest still carrying traffic (see extra).  Although at the moment it's quite clearly not.

It's currently undergoing major first aid.  The road - one of the main routes in and out of the town - will be closed for the next 4 months.  Not everyone is pleased about this.  

There's a foot bridge that runs alongside it.  It's wide enough for me to cycle across.  So, perhaps rather selfishly, I'm happy it's being repaired.
